Finally, we have finished the debate unit!! Yeah!! How did you guys think about this unit?
Well, I didn’t like debating at first, but I liked to listen to others’ debate. They were very funny to watch especially when they were talking about the topics which are not very serious. I think I did my second debate better than my first debate. I had more confidence, and I could feel that my listening skills have been improved by myself. And also, I could think in English in my mind, and try to make them into sentences as quickly as I could. I often could feel my brain was thinking in the full speed. It didn’t take so long to make me be fond of debate.
I think I learned so many things in this unit. And I really think that the way Mr. Manno taught us was so smart so we could be brought till this step. Do you guys remember our first debate? I think the topic was “Should students be graded in speaking English?” right? At that time, we were all not used to debating. It was hard for us to counterargument or acknowledge. But look! Now we all learned how to counterargument and acknowledge! We also can use our public speaking skills which we learned in the speech unit. I could learn how to give strong arguments. This is very useful in our daily lives. I think now I can do much better in not only English debate, but also in Japanese debate!!!
